Visit at the Alvar Aalto Atelje at Munkkiniemi

Visit at the Alvar Aalto Atelje was memorable, since my memories of the office goes as back as to the sixties.

My father, Architect Kaarlo `Kale` Leppänen, started his work at Aalto office as young graduated architect year 1955. Within his more than 20 year career he became the chief of the staff and the “right arm” of Aalto.

Kale`s main work`s at the office were Vuoksenniska church, Wolfburg Cultural Center and Finlandia Hall.

There is still present at the office the same warm and human atmosphere as when staff and Aalto together designed the world-famous masterpieces.
