Hanko Casino

Hanko Casino represents an exceptional layer of Finnish spa history and coastal architecture. Originally completed in 1879, the building was transformed under the direction of architect Waldemar Aspelin in 1910, when it acquired its present-day, internationally recognized Art Nouveau appearance. The building is located within a nationally significant built cultural environment (RKY) and forms a central part of the historical identity of Hanko’s Spa Park.
As the first stage of the restoration planning process, funding has been applied for from the Finnish Heritage Agency to repair the windows in the poorest condition.
