Huopalahti Church is located in Etelä-Haaga, Helsinki, and is part of the Haaga parish. The building originally served as a meeting place for Finnish speakers and later as a school. In 1917, it began hosting church services. This ecclesiastical use was intended to be temporary, as Eliel Saarinen had designed a new church for the area, which, however, was never built. In 1928, the building was officially converted into a prayer house, and it was consecrated as a church in 1942 following a major renovation. Since the relinquishment of Hakavuori Church, Huopalahti Church is currently the only church in the Haaga parish.
The church building is made of wood and painted red. It can accommodate 200 people. The altarpiece is a bronze sculpture titled The Crucified (1959) by Harry Kivijärvi. The church also features sculptures by Eeva Ryynänen and Auli Korhonen, as well as the former altarpiece, which is a replica of a painting by Peter Paul Rubens.
