Hanko Casino
Leppänen Architects has been selected as the architectural and main designers for the restoration planning phase of Hanko Casino.
Hanko Casino represents an exceptional layer of Finnish spa history and coastal architecture. Originally completed in 1879, the building underwent a transformation at the hands of architect Waldemar Aspelin in 1910, when it acquired its current, internationally recognizable Art Nouveau style. The building is located in a nationally significant built cultural environment (RKY) and is a central part of the historical identity of Hanko’s Spa Park.
In the first phase of the restoration planning, a grant has been applied for from the Finnish Heritage Agency to repair the windows in the worst condition.
