“From Father to Son” 50 years
The “From Father to Son” 50th-anniversary celebration was held over the weekend at Finlandia Hall in a solemn and festive atmosphere.
The event celebrated the combined 50-year history of the architectural offices of architects Kaarlo and Kari Leppänen.
Kaarlo Leppänen founded his own office in 1975, when the congress wing of Finlandia Hall was completed. Kale, as Alvar Aalto’s right hand, was responsible for the design of Finlandia Hall in Aalto’s office as the artistic manager of the office.
Kari Leppänen founded his own office in 1990. The same year also marked the beginning of the design for the interior renovation of Finlandia Hall under the leadership of Kaarlo and Kari Leppänen.
